So you know how sometimes when you are on the bus (or any other public location for that matter) and some person comes along with his big ass over-ear headphones with the volume turned up so high that the music is audible to everyone else on the bus? I find that very personal, well, embarrassing as well, because music reflects (to a certain extent) the kind of person you are.
Anyways, so I recently bought Lady Gaga’s heartbeat earphones by Dr Dre (thinking that I can still be fashionable even with technology, right?) because they went on sale at HMV. Tried them on and, oh shyte, the earpieces kept coming off because the triangle bit (i.e. the fashionable bit) is too big for my ears. What the?! Talk about a waste of money!
So I decided to use the boyfriend’s studio headphones by Dr. Dre while I find another replacement and plus the ear cushion doubles as ear muffs. Hmmmm, toasty ears! OMG I had no idea how freaking audible the equipment is because for the last few days, I’ve been one of ‘those’ people with their big ass over ear headphones with music so loud that people probably must think I’m deaf. I discovered this yesterday when I was just about to turn my Ipod off in one of the lifts in my office building and some middle aged guy smiled at me and started shaking his body to the beat (as if to jest). I thought that was a bit odd at first, only to discover that all the while my music has been blasting from my ears! Oh the horror!
You know what’s worst? I’ve been listening to (don’t judge ok?) Korean pop music. Ay yay yay, kill me now please.

My new love. I am dying to bring her out but I promised myself (and the boyfriend) that I will keep her in until the time is right. This horrible weather is not helping either, there is NO way I am subjecting her to the wrath of London’s winter. Accckkk!!! I love her so much! This is going to be my summer staple. I can’t wait. I cannot wipe this ridiculous grin off my face.
It took me a long time before deciding on her. I knew I wanted something different. Something that will stand the test of time practically and fashionably speaking. It wasn’t just a matter of picking the right colour. That was a no brainer. It’ll go with my ‘almost neutral’ wardrobe and make everything more pleasing to the eye. The boyfriend preferred the red python. To be fair he likes anything reptile related.
Now, the bag itself. I mean, the most obvious choice for most girls would have been a Chanel. It is very difficult to resist anything Chanel. Even now. I absolutely adore the neutral browns and camels that is showcasing in stores at the moment. I also believe that a Chanel bag is an investment. Literally. It is probably one of the only bags that will never fall in value, rather, it will be worth more when it becomes vintage.
However, I also believe that Celine is the luxury accessories house at present. It is forever classic. It is forever timeless. I love the fact that it is discreet. It doesn’t scream ‘Look at me!’. It will only be appreciated by those who know and love fashion. And that is what I want. Love!

6 more days to KL. 6 days for Heathrow airport to get its act together. Geez, UK has 4 seasons, which includes winter, which then (more often than not) includes snow. You’d think they’d be more prepared for 6 or 7 inches of snow. And it’s not even snowing anymore! Most of the snow and ice has melted. I will NOT be a happy bunny if I am not sitting on that plane come Saturday night.
Plus at the rate I’m going, I am bound to slip and fall on my butt. My winter wonderland wardrobe mainly consists of the above. Boots, my mom’s cozy grandma cardigan and leather jacket. I try to add a bit of colour once in a while.
I can’t wait to go home.
Things I look forward to going home:
- The sun. Probably the only time where my sunglasses comes out to play.
- Driving. Or being driven. Singing in the car. LOUDLY.
- The best friend. She’s recently single and she’s so much fun now!

Catch up session with Karina after her exams. She’s going home tomorrow! Jealous. I can’t wait to go home. Learned a new way to tie a scarf. I want an over sized scarf to experiment with.

I admit it, smoking looks sexy. It looks fashionable. All the super models and celebrities do it. So it must be, right? But is it really sexy? Is it sexy when someone’s breath smells of tar? Is it fashionable when someone flashes you a yellow smile with purple gums? I don’t think so. It’s also bloody expensive! How far am I willing to go for fashion? Not that far. But that doesn’t mean I’m not curious.
Relax, I’m not THAT curious. They’re called e-ciggies. They are meant to simulate real ciggies, without the harmful side effects. How was it? Well, it took me a while to even suck the damn thing! It’s so hard! Either that or I have terrible lung capacity. And when I eventually got the idea of it, it left a very uncomfortable itchy (or dry even?) feeling in my throat. And apparently this doesn’t even compare to how a real ciggie feels or tastes like. So, seriously people, why in the world are you subjecting yourselves to this?! Smoking sucks! It’s not cool, and it’s not fashionable. Period.

I don’t even know what is she advertising. I just think this is an amazing shot. Meet Fei Fei Sun everyone! Some of you may recognise her from H&M’s latest Christmas campaign.

Whenever it’s that time of the month, I look down and blegggh. That pretty much sums up how I feel. Ok, it doesn’t help that I hardly work out nowadays and I keep munching on little bits of chocolate and bread. Yes, I count carbs. Not obsessively though. I’d like to think of myself of mindful – I know enough to know that a night of clubbing does not mean that you can have that plate of indo mee afterwards on the basis that you have been ‘working’ your tush on the dance floor.
Anyways, I now know that it’s never a good idea to try on new clothes when you’re experiencing the bleeggh feeling. Especially JEANS! My new biker babies came in the post today and I tried to try them on. My heart was racing so fast from all that jumping and pulling!
And I barely made it. Now all I have to do is not sit down.
Sigh. No more bread and cheese for you, Yasmin.

Yes, yes, I am still obsessed with the maxi skirt or any length of skirt for that matter! Rag & Bone shows real girls all around the world how it’s done. I’m still on the hunt for a maxi skirt I can call my own. I am especially loving the black slit maxi skirt + stripped t-shirt look.

Look who Faz and I bumped into at Harvey Nics: Cher! Yes, yes, it’s hard to tell. I assure you, it was her. She was very inconspicuous which gave me the impression that she didn’t want anyone recognising her. So we refrained ourselves from going up to her. Plus, am not a big Cher fan. Now if it was, say, hmmm… I can’t think of any just yet. Gimme a sec and it will come to me.
Cher is here, along with Christina Aguilera, to promote their new movie Burlesque. The sister is very excited to watch the movie for some reason. I’m there for McSteamy 😉
Ouh ouh, if it was McSteamy, yes, I would have sucked up my guts and asked for a picture. Oh heck, and a peck on the cheeks. I would of course, google his REAL name first and then approach him.

Dare I say it? I might jinx it. Oh, why not? It’s getting ‘warmer’ in London. Tolerable. No more chattering teeth. Either that or I’ve grown an extra inch of fat to keep me warm…Oh darn you celebration chocolates!
Yeah, I’m going to convince myself that the temperature in London is rising ever so slightly.
Sometimes, okies, all the time, I wish I was working in an industry that doesn’t restrict you from wearing sweats to the office. I’ll settle for jeans, even. My staple work wear items are skinny black trousers and boyfriend blazer. That way, I can escape wearing just a white t-shirt underneath when I’m super lazy. I do like dressing up for work, but often when it is cold all I want is my over sized sweater. The above by Markus Lupfer is perfect for that morning to evening casual dinner transition.
